Our New Beginners’ Course: Learn Irish Now!

Conradh na Gaeilge Birmingham is delighted to announce our new and unique Irish language course for beginners: Learn Irish Now!
Participants will attend ten three-hour lessons (10 a.m. -1 p.m.) in the centre of Birmingham on the first Saturday of each month, starting in October. The course includes both online and printed resources.

On our online learning platform, you will have access to short tutorials and engaging activities on all course topics. There will also be a printed course script. Optional Zoom meetings will be available between sessions.
The in-person lessons in Birmingham will focus on practising the communicative situations learned during self-study, with an emphasis on speaking.

Participants can immediately use their Irish at our monthly Popup Gaeltacht in Digbeth (held on the second Sunday of each month) and at other social activities for Irish speakers and learners in the West Midlands, organised by Conradh na Gaeilge Birmingham and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

Upon successful completion of the course, Conradh na Gaeilge Birmingham will award a certificate. You should also be ready to take the TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge – European Certificate of Irish) A1 Irish exam at various test centres in Ireland and Paris, as well as the oral TiLG (Teastas i Labhairt na Gaeilge – Certificate in Spoken Irish) A1 exam via Zoom, provided by Gaelteanga. We hope to offer an A2 course next year.

The enrolment fee for Learn Irish Now is £120, which includes ten three-hour sessions in Birmingham, printed resources, access to our learning platform with interactive tasks and exclusive video content, as well as optional Zoom meetings. Registration for this course is on Eventbrite. There are limited spaces available.
