Our Irish Courses

Our Beginners’ Course: Learn Irish Now! A1.1

Conradh na Gaeilge Birmingham is delighted to announce that we will run a third year of our hugely popular and unique Irish language course for beginners: Learn Irish Now! A1.1

Participants will attend ten three-hour lessons (10 a.m. -1 p.m.) in the centre of Birmingham (usually) on the first Saturday of each month, starting in October 2026. The course includes both online and printed resources and we will cover the first part of the TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge) A1 syllabus.

On our online learning platform, you will have access to short tutorials and engaging activities on all course topics. There will also be a printed course script.
The in-person lessons in Birmingham will focus on practising the communicative situations learned during self-study, with an emphasis on speaking.

Participants can immediately use their Irish at our monthly Popup Gaeltacht in Digbeth (held on the second Sunday of each month) and at other social activities for Irish speakers and learners in the West Midlands, organised by Conradh na Gaeilge Birmingham and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
